C.A.N.D.O.’s 5th season of community basketball all came down to last night. It was the championship game, ending off a season that bought out friends, family, and local supporters to cheer for their team or favorite player. The two teams, Team DJ and 6 ‘N Ferry, competed strongly for the title of Champion. The competitiveness could be seen throughout every play; looks of emotion, passion, and adrenaline, from the jump of the ball, until the final whistle.
The game would close out with Team DJ being the victor, 67 to 60 but, surely no one lost. The season was a success, the support has grown and the game was great! In support of the league, Mayor Frank Moran and several counterparts congratulated both teams and thanked Mr. Anthony Ways and Mr. Ali Sloan-El for their work in the community. The basketball games were held weekly at The Creative Arts Morgan Village Academy, located at 990 Morgan Blvd., Camden, NJ 08104. There will be a new season of basketball for the fall of 2019.
