Today marks the first of four days of the Democratic National Convention (DNC) to embark it's festivities upon our bordering city, Philadelphia. Either political
convention translates to an enormous economic boost to any host city. With this convention hitting so close to Camden, one can only imagine if we have any economic
benefit. Surely we can dream further until one day we may be able to host a convention ourselves, that would be something. Nevertheless, here is the official website for the convention http://www.phldnc.com/
There will be a DNC-sponsored concert here in Camden, featuring Lady Gaga, DJ Jazzy Jeff and Lenny Kravitz. The event is title "Camden Rising," and accessible only toconvention delegates and thousand of invited guests.
For those who plan on using Patco in the next several days, there will be "extra train service" this week, with heightened security for Patco and its fourbistate DRPA bridges into Philadelphia. The amount of train during rush hour will be increased from two to six. Longer trains will be in service before and after the 1pm concert Thursday at the BB&T Center in Camden.
